Steve Durie is a Gippsland troubadour, a singer/guitarist performing ballads, blues and country music around south eastern Australia from Phillip Island to Coffs Harbour.
Steve has been an adventurer all his life, living and working around eastern Australia and the Asia Pacific region, taking his songs and his guitar with him wherever he goes. For most of that time he sang with his wife Annie, either in duo format or getting a local band together wherever their current life adventure took them, somewhere on the east coast of Australia, or off in PNG, Taiwan or Hong Kong.
With Annie’s passing, Steve took to the road and spends much of his life travelling, tracing his footprints around eastern Victoria and NSW. Playing at taverns, cafes and pubs along the way, often playing aged-care shows as he goes through town, Steve showcases a mix of classic hits, diverse/Americana country rhythm and blues styles and original Gippsland songs. His heart in his voice, his compelling guitar rhythms and riffs take the audience on that journey with him.
Steve is based on a small farm in South Gippsland, with a mixed family of kids and grandkids, brumbies, ponies and alpacas, deeply immersed in our wonderful and unique Australian nature. With 20 years of wildlife care behind him, Steve loves touring and camping the mountains, forests, rivers and coastline of this beautiful country in his Sprinter camper-van.
